Gratitude – Leadership & Gratitude – Compassion Community Features by Oscar Smith - April 17, 2019April 30, 20190 By Oscar Smith, Author, Pastor ‘Leadership’ and ‘compassion’ aren’t words we commonly link together. Most leaders are conditioned to put business before benevolence – to lead with their heads, not their hearts. From my times in the business world as a Chauffeur the perception of a powerful leader is someone who’s tough, strong, decisive, hard-nosed. As CEO of Osmithmedia, I find conviction, confidence and courage to cultivate connectivity and compassion to be most important moving forward. Maybe his wife passed away a few years ago. His children live in other states. It is 90 degrees and his AC unit goes out. An AC unit is an expensive item to replace. You Have To Take That First Step Local Business Spotlight by Krys Midgett - April 17, 2019April 17, 20190 written by Krys Midgett “I have learned that if you don’t take the first step, you will never know what you could have accomplished,” says Christine (Chris) Tomlin. She has taken many incredible first steps in her career and life, and has the accomplishments to show for it. In 2005, Tomlin left 30 years in the hospitality industry because she was tired of the corporate world. Tomlin said, “A friend of mine suggested I get my insurance license and work with him. The prescription coverage requirement had just went into effect for individuals who were on Medicare. It did not take long to realize that this was an opportunity to help people, while making a living. It was a win-win!” That step
Music Makes Us Family Local Business Spotlight by Livi West - April 17, 2019May 1, 20190 written by Livi West Shiloh Music Center is 45 photos by Joshua Hicks written by Livi West There’s just something magical about a center of the community where everybody knows each other’s names and histories. It draws us in, makes us want to stop for a drink at Cheers or sit in the local barber shop just to play chess or whatever. Those kinds of community hangouts have almost disappeared in the digital age, and you can’t find that sense of home just by going on Hip Mount Juliet, but it still exists in real life. I found it at Shiloh Music Center. It’s not just me, either. If you sit here long enough, it seems like the whole town walks in. In

I told Soda, “I’m headin’ out. See ya in an hour or two.” I arrived at the park ready to play. I shot for about an hour, then this woman
