As diesel engines replaced the aging steam engines, the lake and surrounding areas were sold off. In 1971 local citizens, scientists, environmental groups, and other officials raised money to purchase the property from developers. Many of the students go on to accomplish great things. One Wilson Central High School Junior will definitely be among those. Aadi Patel decided that he wanted to study to be a Cardiologist when he was in Middle School. He is following in the footsteps of his two uncles who are doctors. His favorite subjects in school are Math and Biology and he takes AP classes. His club involvement includes Beta, The National Honor Society, DECA, The Student Council, and HOSA. What really stands out about Patel is his love to help others, though. He is very involved in the community and loves to help nonprofits.
