Introducing The Future Dr. Patel

Wilson County is home to the best schools in the state, and probably the nation. Many of the students go on to accomplish great things. One Wilson Central High School Junior will definitely be among those.

Aadi Patel decided that he wanted to study to be a Cardiologist when he was in Middle School. He is following in the footsteps of his two uncles who are doctors. His favorite subjects in school are Math and Biology and he takes AP classes. His club involvement includes Beta, The National Honor Society, DECA, The Student Council, and HOSA. What really stands out about Patel is his love to help others, though. He is very involved in the community and loves to help nonprofits. The Kiwanis Club of Mt Juliet is an organization focused on helping kids in the community, he has helped with their efforts for several years. Patel says he loves collecting donations because you get to meet lots of people.

“One year, at the Kiwanis Fill the Bus event, I brought one of my friends and we worked for two hours. It was a lot of fun,” says Patel. Fill The Bus is an event that Kiwanis puts on a few times a year to collect food for the Wilson County Schools Resource Center to help local kids. Among his achievements, Patel was nominated by a teacher to attend a summer program at Emory University. He is going to be doing a summer program at Johns Hopkins University next summer. Only a certain number of students are invited into these programs.
He is looking forward to the Johns Hopkins program and learned a lot at Emory. “It was supposed to be on campus but due to covid, they put us up in a nearby hotel. We did our classes and programs there. There was a set schedule for activities we had every day. In the evening, we’d have speakers. One day we learned about First Aid and there were stations set up. Another day, we got to watch a surgery on a video. It was a great experience,” added Patel.

After he finishes school, he hopes to be able to work in either Nashville or New York. “I just want to be in a place where I can be near the people I love and in an area that I like,” he stated. His biggest goal for the future is “to be a good parent. I want multiple kids and a career where I will be able to take care of my family.” That’s a beautiful goal for this outstanding High School student.

As for right now, Patel loves to hang out with his friends in Providence and eat sushi at Thai Samuari.
