Halloween In The Park

Trick or Treat!!! Charlie Daniels Park will be hosting their annual Halloween in the Park on Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event is free and great for the whole family, with costume contests for children or pets. The contest age groups range from infant to age seventeen. Remember to arrive early so your pet or child is sure to be entered. Pets will be judged from 11 a.m. to 11:10 a.m. Judging for children will be from 11:10 a.m. to approximately 2:50 p.m. and will be determined by age group until they are finished.
Aside from watching your favorite witch win best dressed, or your favorite ghost float into first, there will be hayrides, a petting zoo, inflatables, and vendor booths. Get ready to be sugared up because there will be an endless supply of candy.
“At the moment, no new activities are planned, but we love hearing suggestions on how to better this event for our community,” said Jennifer Diekmann, Events Coordinator.“The Parks and Recreation Department loves this community and wants to do everything in their power to hold events that are fun for all.”
Halloween is one of the most exciting times of the year. It’s the start of the official holidays. Kicking it off with a community event is the best way to welcome the season.
“We are expecting well over 3,000 people,” said Diekmann.
There will be multiple additional parking places, including the field in front of the Mt. Juliet Police Department, Mount Juliet Middle School and Elzie D. Patton Elementary School.
There’s nothing like spending time with your neighbors and having some good, family fun. No matter what your age, this is an event you don’t want to miss. Enjoy a hayride, changing leaves and some candy while doing so. This is what Halloween at the Park is all about.
